Sony Drops Second Trailer for 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'
Sony Pictures has released the second trailer for the highly anticipated film *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The sequel arrives following a record-breaking promotional campaign; the film’s first trailer set a new industry benchmark by garnering 718.6 million views within its first 24 hours, surpassing the previous record held by *Deadpool & Wolverine*.
The narrative picks up in the aftermath of *Spider-Man: No Way Home*, exploring a reality where Peter Parker’s identity has been erased from the collective memory of the world, including his closest allies, MJ and Ned. Tom Holland returns to the lead role, supported by an ensemble cast that includes Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink, and Michael Mando. The screenplay is penned by franchise veterans Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, alongside newcomer Justin Kuritzkes.
This release marks a significant milestone for the franchise, arriving more than four years after the massive success of *No Way Home*, which remains Sony’s highest-grossing film to date. Holland has expressed that the creative team took a deliberate, collaborative approach to ensure the story justified a return to the character. With a scheduled release date of July 31, the film carries high expectations as it attempts to replicate the commercial dominance of its predecessor while navigating a new, isolated chapter for the protagonist.
