( WDCW ) — Two people are dead, including the suspect, and three others are hurt after a Sunday road-rage stabbing on Interstate 495 in Fairfax County, according to Virginia State Police. Police said troopers responded to reports of a road-rage incident at 1:17 p.m. on southbound I-495. Four people were found suffering from stab wounds, including 39-year-old Michelle Adams, who later died from her injuries. A dog was also found to have been killed in the stabbing. According to VSP, the suspect, identified as Jared Llamado, 32, of McLean, confronted troopers while armed with a knife, and the trooper shot him in self-defense. Llamado died at the scene. Police said the trooper was not hurt during the encounter, and an initial investigation indicated that the stabbing occurred after a crash. VSP emphasized that the stabbings are not believed to be terrorism-related. The incident resulted in significant traffic delays, closing southbound lanes on the I-495 outerloop between Gallows Road and Little River Turnpike. The roads have since reopened.
