President Trump indicated Thursday that Iran was not living up to the ceasefire agreement reached between the two nations by not adequately reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

In a Truth Social post, he wrote: “Iran is doing a very poor job, dishonorable some would say, of allowing Oil to go through the Strait of Hormuz.”

“That is not the agreement we have!” he added.

The comments come as tensions are already flaring on both sides of the tenuous two-week ceasefire, in particular after Israel’s attack on Lebanon on Wednesday.

Trump also said in a separate post that Iran had “better not be” charging tolls for ships traversing the Strait of Hormuz and said that if it is, the country should “stop now!”

“There are reports that Iran is charging fees to tankers going through the Hormuz Strait — They better not be and, if they are, they better stop now!” he wrote on Truth Social.

The Strait of Hormuz is a key oil shipping channel located off Iran’s coast. The war between Iran and the U.S. effectively closed the strait.

Trump said this week that the ceasefire between the two countries would be contingent on the reopening of the strait.

However, reports in recent days have indicated that the country is imposing restrictions and requiring payment for passage.

On Wednesday, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran could open the strait in a way that is “limited, under &zwnj;Iran’s ⁠control” on Thursday or Friday before a meeting with U.S. officials on Saturday in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters’ Union, which works with Iran’s government, told the Financial Times that Iran would impose a toll of $1 per barrel of oil — in cryptocurrency — on ships seeking to move through the strait.

The Wall Street Journal reported Iran told mediators that during the ceasefire it would restrict passage to around 12 ships per day and would collect fees for those that pass through.

The matter could complicate talks slated for this weekend.

The ceasefire came after Trump threatened “a whole civilization will die” if Iran did not meet his Tuesday deadline.
