The '90s were definitely a golden age for television. The decade gave birth to prestige TV series and iconic sitcoms. Like, for example, everyone still talks about Friends, The Nanny, Seinfeld, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air like they never left the air (they're constantly streaming, quoted, and rediscovered by new audiences). But the '90s were packed with other shows that pulled in huge ratings and had real cultural moments at the time. Somehow, a lot of those hits have slipped through the cracks and now feel almost completely forgotten.

Recently, redditor TheOrangeSloth was curious about the shows that have faded from the conversation over the decades when they asked: "What's the most forgotten '90s TV show?"

Well, people listed a whole bunch of shows, and didn't just name obscure flops — they brought up TV series that were genuinely huge at the time. Some of these shows sat atop the ratings, had recognizable stars, and even won Emmys. Below are the top and most often repeated shows:

1.

"Grace Under Fire was huge for a few years, and then Brett Butler seemed to self-implode, and you never hear of the show or her anymore."

"Oh wow, I'd forgotten that one. It's the one about the guy who got a newspaper ahead of time that could tell the future? Cool concept, though maybe better suited to a movie rather than a TV series."

"VR Troopers. I remember liking this show as a kid, even though I was still a huge Power Rangers fan. I had some of the toys too. What a time to be alive."

"Every once in a while, the theme song still pops into my head when someone mentions VR."

"I almost never hear anyone mention Sliders (w/ Jerry O'Connell). probably because it wasn't particularly good as either a sci-fi or a weird situational, but I remember it being reasonably popular back in the day. According to Wiki, it lasted for five seasons, but I only saw two."

"Sliders had a great premise and started out really good. Then it was taken over by the Sci-Fi Channel, and they slashed the budget. The last three seasons were pretty bad."

"Didn't watch this much, but given how it was both popular and controversial in its day, I'm surprised it's barely mentioned now."

"Empty Nest. It was a spin-off of The Golden Girls and ran for seven seasons (the same amount as TGG), yet no one remembers it."
