Emilie Bujès is to step down as artistic director of documentary film festival Visions du Réel, which takes place in Nyon, Switzerland. She will leave at the end of July, after wrapping the 57th edition, which runs from April 17-26.
She will then take over as director of Geneva Intl. Film Festival on Aug. 1, which will allow her to focus more on fiction films and series.
Bujès, who previously served as co-director and head of programming and industry for Visions du Réel, has served across nine editions of the festival. “My years with the Visions du Réel team, first as a member of the selection committee and then as artistic director, have been filled with challenges, encounters, cinematic discoveries, and joys—artistic, professional and personal,” she said.
