Fox News host Sean Hannity has weighed in on the beef brewing between Donald Trump and Pope Leo XIV.

Speaking on his self-titled show Hannity, the 64-year-old said he wanted to leave a message for the Vatican. "Like millions of Americans, I was raised Catholic. I went to Catholic school for 12 years," he said.

"As of today, I no longer consider myself a Catholic," he said. "While I am a Christian, I left the Catholic church in large part because of institutionalized corruption — and it was at the parish level, the bishop level, cardinals, all the way to Rome."

Hannity goes on to say "scandals" within the church were left "unchecked," insisting, "Others at the Vatican have totally lost sight of the true meaning of the Bible and its teachings."
Then he zooms in on Pope Leo. "Pope Leo XIV is now seemingly more interested in spreading left-wing politics than the actual teachings of Jesus Christ... Why is the Pope twisting religion to specifically attack only President Trump and the US?"

"Is it because he's a run-of-the-mill, Trump-hating Democrat that lacks moral clarity about radical Islam?" Hannity pressed. "Where are the pointed words for Iran?"

Of course, Hannity references Pope Leo's public messages about war being bad (which have yet to name Donald Trump specifically)...
> This is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war. He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them, saying: “Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen: your hands are full of blood” (Is 1:15).

...and yet Trump clearly took the Church's cries for peace as a direct attack.
