Did you ever feel like you were living outside your own existence, playing a role in a distant reality? Building on this feeling of estrangement and adapting his own Goya-Awarded animated short, writer-director and animation veteran Alberto Vázquez crafted “Decorado”.
An elaborate, eerie adult feature, in “Decorado,” Arnold, a mouse in midlife crisis, sees his world as an artificial theater set (“decorado” in Spanish). As personal troubles mount, his suspicions of living in a fake reality lead him to search for meaning, as he unveils more and more the blank truth of his universe: his world is a wonderful stage, with a deplorable cast.
