Stormi Webster is the 8-year-old daughter of Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott. Her name is known around the world, and she has more A-list aunts and uncles than I could possibly begin to name — so it’s no surprise that she’s starting to get curious.

Giving a rare interview on the first episode of Kid Cudi’s new Big Bro podcast, Kylie said that while being in the spotlight has become somewhat “normal” to her two kids, Stormi and Aire, her oldest recently asked why their “whole family” is famous.

“Now that she’s in school, she’s asking more questions…I think it’s becoming more present in her mind,” Kylie said, detailing how she handled the situation. “I sat her down, and I’m like, ‘We started a television show when I was a year older than you, and that’s why we’re all in this together.’ She was like, ‘Can I watch it?’ And I’m like, ‘Sure.’”

I don’t know about you, but the realization that Kylie was just a year older than Stormi when the family started making Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2007 has absolutely blown my mind — and it sounds like it gave Kylie a lot to reflect on, too.

The 28-year-old Kylie Cosmetics founder went on to explain that she and Stormi watched the first-ever episode of KUWTK together, and it brought up a lot of unexpected emotions.

“We turned on the first episode. Some things I didn’t realize were inappropriate, so I fast-forwarded through all the inappropriate stuff,” Kylie said, explaining that they wound up watching a “cute scene” showing a family party at her childhood home. “She was like, ‘OK, Mommy, when can we watch Episode 2?’”

Kylie said Stormi then left the room, and that’s when the tears started to fall. “I was so emotional after. I don't know what hit me, but I was weeping in my bed,” she recalled. “I don't know why that happened to me.”

“Maybe it's like my daughter being the same age as I was [or] just seeing my family and feeling so grateful for all that we've built, but also mourning that closeness when we were all kind of living under the same roof,” she continued. “It was very emotional. I didn't know it was going to hit me like that.”

Elsewhere in the podcast interview, Kylie spoke with Cudi about her “strict” parenting style and her concerns about her kids’ exposure to fame and social media, saying, “We don’t know how [fame] is going to affect them, and it’s really scary.”

“There are some things I just can’t control, like when we go out in public and stuff like that,” she said, discussing the “boundaries” she keeps when it comes to her kids’ privacy. “[Stormi] will kind of tell me now what she wants to do and what she doesn’t want to do…I try my best.”
