People have been left gagged after Bridgerton star Simone Ashley revealed that she and actor Nicholas Galitzine used to work together pre-fame — and reunited at the Met Gala after years apart.

For reference, 31-year-old Simone’s first major breakthrough came in 2019, when she played Olivia in the British series Sex Education:

She then gained global recognition after being cast as Kate in Season 2 of Bridgerton, which hit our screens in 2022:

Meanwhile, 31-year-old Nick starred in several smaller shows before finding his calling with YA and romantic roles in the likes of Purple Hearts, Red, White & Royal Blue, and Bottoms.

Although he’d carved a niche following for himself from those performances, it was his starring role opposite Anne Hathaway in the 2024 movie The Idea of You that really put his name on the map.

And in a new video interview with Vogue, Simone revealed that she and fellow rising star Nick actually go way back, and they used to work at a frozen yogurt shop together when their respective dreams of becoming successful actors were just a glimmer in their eyes.

“I used to work and serve froyo with Nick Galitzine,” Simone said in the video. “I saw him, the last time, at a shift where we were serving froyo together. And then, years later, the next time I saw him was actually at the Met Gala, which is just kind of crazy.”

Needless to say, the people of the internet were inclined to agree with Simone’s final comment, with many sharing their disbelief at the story as they reacted to the interview on X.

One tweet that has been liked more than 100K times reads: “the concept of reuniting with your froyo coworker at the MET GALA?!?! 😭😭😭” Another with 28K likes adds: “The insane profit that frozen yogurt shop was raking in… 'cause no way in hell was anybody turning down anything they were offering.”

“the concept of getting served froyo by simone ashley and nicholas galitzine,” another wrote. Somebody else joked: "that froyo place has insane face card standards😭” One more added: “This is a Disney Channel sitcom plot.”

While somebody else joked: “British actors are never beating the ‘they all know each other’ allegations,” to which another quipped: “How small is the UK??”

And, of course, there were plenty of references to a third British actor: Joe Alwyn, who is also believed to be a froyo shop alumni, thanks to his ex Taylor Swift’s song “Invisible String,” where she sings: “Teal was the color of your shirt / When you were 16 at the yogurt shop / You used to work at to make a little money.”

“joe alwyn core,” one person wrote in response to the video of Simone, while somebody else asked: “did Joe alwyn also work there.”
