If you haven't seen The Drama yet, have no fear, this is a fairly spoiler-free space.

Even if you haven't caught the A24 film that is probably the absolute worst date night pick in Hollywood history, you've likely heard that it's got people talking and feeling a whole lot of things.

Plot aside, Robert Pattinson and Zendaya's chemistry as a couple is electric.

For longtime fans of Robert, his role as a bashful loverboy is calling to mind the brooding romantic angel that is Edward Cullen of the Twilight franchise.

I have to admit I haven't watched any of the Twilight movies in over a decade, but my parasocial love of Edward jumped OUT in unexpected ways thanks to a particular scene in The Drama.

HBO Max

Charlie (Robert) whispers into Emma's ear (Zendaya), and tells her how much he truly loves her. He whispers, "I love you so much it hurts." Sound familiar, #TeamEdward?

He continues to propose to Emma in the ear that she can't hear from, due to an injury (the movie gets into those details later on).

Of course, my hopeless romantic self instantly thought of this scene from the first Twilight movie:

HBO Max

It's one of the most tender scenes I long for in romance films and books, but haven't seen executed so lovingly in ages. And with the collective sounds of awws at the theater when I watched The Drama, I think it was the same for many.

The smolder, the simmer. Robert, the man you are.

As soon as I left the theater, I had to scroll on social media to see how my fellow R-Patz fans were doing after that scene, and I soon realized all of the Twilight "gang gang" was with me: We couldn't help but think of one Edward Cullen.

Here's what people are saying about Robert reviving a little Edward charm for that scene of The Drama:

"this scene was the most romantic scene i have seen in a long time"

"No because the MOMENT I saw this scene, I looked to my friend and we both said 'Edward Cullen'"

@eyeamsabrina / Via x.com

"spirit of edward cullen possessed him"

"YESSSSSS THAT WAS EDWARD CULLEN 100%"

@defaphase / Via x.com

"Riiiiight??? He had some Edward Cullen vibes in this movie ahah"

@Arnomelette / Via x.com

"ughhhh i melted when i saw this scene in theaters just so sweet and romantic"

@user752178 / Via x.com

"my heart just did a flip"

@karen_sant35047 / Via x.com

"wow robdaya.. chemistry is chemistrying"

And with that, I see a Twilight rewatch in my near future. And also The Batman, because Robert was fine as heck in that, too.
