Senate Republicans voted overwhelmingly Wednesday against the upper chamber’s resolution seeking to rein in President Trump, though several members are voicing concerns about the lack of a clear game plan to end the conflict. The House’s version is also expected to fail. In Iran, an ayatollah has called for the “shedding” of blood from Israelis and Trump. The Pentagon‘s No. 3 official, Elbridge Colby, will also face House questioning on the administration’s National Defense Strategy, days after he testified before the Senate. Meanwhile, attention remains fixed on Texas, where Sen. John Cornyn (R) is fighting for his political life in a Senate primary runoff, as GOP leaders fret over Democratic candidate James Talarico’s primary victory. Trump on Wednesday said he would endorse either Cornyn or state Attorney General Ken Paxton and then asked the unendorsed candidate to drop out of the race. Trump on Thursday will hold executive time and an intelligence briefing, before hosting the Major League Soccer champions at the White House in the afternoon. Follow live below.
