The third and final season of Euphoria is officially here, and we're already off to a shocking start in the first episode, which aired on HBO on Sunday, April 12. We're seeing the return of the characters played by Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Alexa Demie, as well as the late Eric Dane, who returns as Cal Jacobs. There's also a five-year time jump this season, meaning the main characters are about 22–24 years old, to put things in perspective.

Since Season 1 aired all the way back in 2019, we wanted to see just how much the cast and characters have changed since we first met them. So, here's a comparison of what every main Euphoria character looked like in the first season they appeared in versus Season 3:

For context, Rue is 17 years old in Season 1 and starts the show as a high school junior. In the third season, she becomes a drug mule for Laurie (whom Rue now owes $100,000 for the suitcase of drugs she received from Laurie and lost in Season 2).

In Season 1, Cal is leading a double life, appearing to be a successful businessman while having anonymous sexual encounters with Jules and young men at motels. In the third season, he is dealing with the aftermath of his breakdown and arrest at the end of Season 2. He seems to reconnect with characters such as Jules and Nate later in the season.
