Iran attacked and seized at least two cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, as peace talks between Iran and the U.S. appear to be on ice.
President Trump extended the U.S. ceasefire indefinitely on Tuesday, only hours after saying he had no interest in doing so. What remains unclear is what kind of deal Trump can secure with Iran.
Democrats won a battle in the redistricting war with Virginia voters on Tuesday approving an effort to redraw congressional lines.
On Capitol Hill, Senate Republicans are scrambling to pass a budget reconciliation package to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection.
A handful of Trump administration officials — including Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — will testify before the Senate. The House will host a hearing with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on the president’s trade priorities.
