The upcoming Palestinian-German film project 'Chentian,' written by acclaimed screenwriter Suha Arraf, has secured a strategic co-production partnership with Jordan’s Arab Media Network. Represented by Rina Khoury of Abu-Lughod Studios, this new collaboration joins a production team led by veteran Palestinian producer May Odeh. The project, which explores themes of bodily autonomy and land liberation through the lens of Palestinian women, is currently in the development phase.

'Chentian' has already garnered significant industry attention, notably winning the €35,000 Tin Post-Production Award at the Göteborg Film Festival’s Nordic Film Market. Building on this momentum, the team is set to present the project at the ECAM Forum in Madrid on June 10, a key venue for international co-production opportunities. The involvement of Arraf, known for her influential work on 'Lemon Tree' and 'The Syrian Bride,' positions the film as a high-profile title in the current independent cinema landscape.

This partnership underscores the growing trend of cross-border collaboration within the Arab film industry, aimed at strengthening regional production capacity and increasing the global visibility of Palestinian narratives. By integrating Jordanian production expertise with established Palestinian and German creative forces, the project is well-positioned to navigate the complexities of international financing and distribution. As the film moves toward production, its ability to bridge regional markets while maintaining a distinct, socially conscious voice will be a critical factor in its long-term success.
