Republicans’ House campaign arm is arguing that, six months out from election day, its financial advantage over Democrats will help protect the party’s House majority in the midterms.

In a new memo, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) touted its $78.2 million cash on hand after the first quarter, higher than their Democratic counterpart’s $69.9 million in the bank.

“The fundraising success goes beyond the NRCC, reflecting a fully aligned operation led by President Trump and House Republican leadership as well as outside partners,” the memo reads, citing Trump’s MAGA Inc. with $347 million on hand and the Congressional Leadership Fund’s $91.4 million on hand.

The Republican National Committee’s (RNC) also ended the first quarter with more than $116 million on hand, according to Federal Elections Commission (FEC) filings, compared to the Democratic National Committee’s $14 million.

“Republicans are in a strong financial position with six months until election day,” the memo reads.

The NRCC also touted their alignment and coordination with Trump, despite the president’s surging disapproval rating, which some think could become a liability for the party in the high-stakes fight for the midterms.

“The President and his political operation are scaling up travel into key battleground states and districts, driving turnout among the Trump coalition while expanding outreach to critical swing voters who will decide the majority.”

Meanwhile, the Democrats’ Senate campaign arm had $36 million on hand at the end of March, while its Republican counterpart had roughly $43 million.

Democrats need to net just three seats to flip the House this fall and four seats to take the Senate.
