Michael Buckner for Variety
Nicolas Cage and Osgood Perkins are expanding the “Longlegs” universe with a second installment of the now-horror movie franchise.
Paramount Pictures picked up the rights to the mysterious new project after the serial killer thriller “Longlegs” was a massive hit for Neon in 2024. The R-rated film — about an FBI agent hunting a homicidal maniac after surviving an encounter with him as a child — grossed $128 million from a $10 million budget, establishing Perkins as a horror movie maestro and further solidifying Maika Monroe (“It Follows”) as a bona fide scream queen. Cage fans already knew the actor could play twisted roles well, but his demented performance as the Satan-worshipping killer still disturbed and delighted audiences.
