Sydney Sweeney Euphoria Line Left Trisha Paytas Speechless
by Stephanie SoteriouBuzzFeedBuzzFeed StaffI’m an innately nosey and chronically online celebrity and pop culture journalist, with my specialist areas including deep-diving lyrics and calling out Terrible Men™.
As expected, this week’s episode of Euphoria was a trip, to say the least — particularly the opening montage that chronicled Sydney Sweeney’s character Cassie’s rise to OnlyFans fame, concluding with an arguably far-too-lengthy surrealist scene where she turned into a giant.

Prior to that, we saw Cassie and her ex-best-friend-turned-manager Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, shoot incredibly x-rated content, send out Cassie’s dirty underwear to fans, and acquire an obscene amount of sex toys.

The pair were also shown utilizing ragebait to further Cassie’s public profile, with the character making a series of unhinged comments on various podcasts to appease her male audience, such as: “I just feel like American men have been treated like second-class citizens,” and that “men should be free.”

Online personality Trisha Paytas played one of these podcast hosts, and she has now revealed that her horrified response to what Cassie said was completely genuine, as she didn’t have the script to know what had been planned.

In the snippet that made it to air — which was taken from a lengthier scene that was recorded between Trisha and Sydney — Trisha asks, as the podcast host: “Oh, so you think [men] are being too restricted by society?”

To which Sydney, as Cassie, enthusiastically exclaims: “Yes! Like, if a man today were to say that he wants a girlfriend who could cook or clean, he might as well be screaming the n-word!”

In response to this, Trisha audibly gasps before awkwardly stammering: “OK…” while looking up to the ceiling, seemingly trying to figure out where to go from there. Crucially, as Cassie’s manager, Maddy is shown behind the camera, gesturing to Cassie that she was doing a good job.

Sharing behind-the-scenes pictures from her time on Euphoria, Trisha revealed on her Instagram page this week: “Euphoria. I had no script so that speechless reaction was real 😳 Adding actress to my resume 😉”

Trisha previously shared a similar story on her real-life podcast, Just Trish, where she coyly spoke about her time shooting the then-unnamed TV show. Recalling her experience, she said: “Oh my god, the lines were so crazy!”

“It was so… This person would say something, and I’m just like: ‘What?!’” she went on. “Because it was a little improv, and I was like: ‘I don’t know… I don’t even know what to say to that!’”

At this point, a member from Trisha’s team who was off-camera said that what she did end up doing was “great,” and that the director — now known to be Sam Levinson — “loved it.”
