Euphoria's Chloe Cherry On Season 3 Fentanyl Montage

Back in 2022, Chloe Cherry transitioned from being a little-known adult film star to a globally famous actor after she landed the role of Faye in Euphoria, making a lasting impression on viewers with her improvised one-liners.

And fans were delighted when she returned for the long-awaited third and final season of the show, which finally hit our screens on Sunday night.

However, that delight soon turned into horror when Chloe was prominently featured in some of the grossest and most disturbing moments from the episode that genuinely left viewers repulsed.

For reference, Season 3 of Euphoria picks up five years after the events of the Season 2 finale, and it starts by explaining that Zendaya’s character, Rue, is now a drug mule for antagonist Laurie.

In order to pay off her excessive debt to Laurie, Rue has to smuggle fentanyl into the United States from Mexico, which involves swallowing lubed-up balloons full of the drug.

After struggling to force down the bundles, Rue enlists Faye to help her out, and an incredibly lengthy montage shows the two women repeatedly gagging, dribbling, and coming close to vomiting as they shove the golf-ball-sized bundles of drugs down their throats in a truly stomach-turning scene.

For what it’s worth, the fact that the girls have to eventually poop the drugs out is also shown in graphic detail. In one truly disgusting scene chronicling Rue and Faye’s return to the US from Mexico, Faye admits to having an “accident,” with poop seen spilling out of her tiny hot pants.

As if that wasn’t revolting enough, a dog is then shown jumping up behind Faye and licking the poop. Yes, really.

And in new interviews, 28-year-old Chloe revealed that there was no TV magic used when it came to the balls of drugs, with her and Zendaya really swallowing balloons — or maybe even condoms — full of powder and covered in K-Y Jelly.

Speaking to Decider, she shared: “It is disgusting to swallow bags, balloons filled with fentanyl, even if the fentanyl is fake because we’re on a set. It is very gross.”

Recalling showrunner Sam Levinson’s direction at the time, Chloe added: “He was like: ‘I really, really, really need to see in the scene that it is absolutely disgusting to swallow these fentanyl balloons. Like, I need it to be just awful. I need people to just see that it is so disgusting and hard and horrible to do this.’ And I’m hoping that people could see that.”

Despite the grim experience, Chloe admitted that she had no problem shooting the scene because she loves performing. She told TV Insider: “I had an amazing time filming that scene because my greatest joy in this lifetime is performing… Anything! And when we filmed that scene, when we were done, everyone clapped for me, I’m not even kidding.”

“They really just wanted me to, like, give it my all, and really portray how disgusting doing that would actually be,” Chloe explained.

When asked what the “fake out stuff” they were actually swallowing was — specifically if there was a replacement for the lube — Chloe answered: “No, no, no — I was putting real K-Y Jelly into my mouth, and real… It was a condom, or a balloon, or something. Then they put something that just looks like a powder, probably like fucking baby powder, I don’t know, it could have been anything.”

“Then they just tied it up so it looks like balloons full of fentanyl,” Chloe concluded. “But no, we used real K-Y Jelly, and genuinely, that was not hard at all for me. I had a great time because I just love entertaining people, genuinely.”
