1.
"Project Hail Mary. I experienced every possible human emotion in two and a half hours. And I expected none of this when I went to watch it."

"It's been a while since a movie has left such a positive impression on me at the movie theater."

2.
"The Matrix (1999). It was a great film then, and it's aged like fine wine, particularly in its messaging."

"The Matrix is my favorite movie of all time. It's the perfect mix of sci-fi, action, atmosphere, music, pacing, choreography, and overall storytelling. I watched that movie probably 100 times after I got the DVD for Christmas as a teen."
—Jealeantuss
"Seeing it in the movie theater when it opened and having no idea what was happening was absolutely mind-blowing. I wish everybody could feel that moment. It's lost now since everyone knows the story or the concept...but then? Oh, absolutely incredible."
—DagnyLeia
3.
"Saving Private Ryan. The opening scene is the most realistic portrayal of warfare I've seen. I'd argue the best war movie ever made."

4.
"WALL-E. In fact, I'll go as far as to say it's an 11/10. The characters are well written, the animation is on point, and the story is excellent. Pixar just hasn't made a movie like it since."

"Back to the Future. I'll fight anyone who says otherwise."

"Great chemistry between the characters, and every scene serves to progress the story."

6.
"The Truman Show. Came out in 1998 and somehow gets more relevant every single year."

"Alien (1979). Not a single wasted frame. Every scene builds tension, the practical effects still hold up today, and Sigourney Weaver basically invented the action heroine. It's a horror film, a sci-fi film, and a survival thriller all at once, and it nails all three."

"Jurassic Park, 1993. It's got the spectacle, it's got the dino, it's got enough horror, it's got the jokes and lighthearted moments, it's got the memes, it's got the foundation to become one of the most popular franchises in the world."

"The Emperor's New Groove. A tight 80-minute romp. No filler, all entertainment, all-star cast."

"And it was almost completely different. The film spent years in production hell. It was originally meant to be this grand musical epic, like The Lion King, called Kingdom of the Sun. After really poor test screenings, Disney execs split the production team in half, gave half to Roger Allers, the original director, and half to Mike Dindal, who wanted to pivot towards comedy. The studio vastly preferred the comedy version of Dindal, but still almost shut production down entirely, giving Dindal just two weeks to come up with a version that would work. That was the film we got. There's a documentary film called The Sweatbox by Trudie Styler (wife of Sting, who was involved in the soundtrack) that covers the production of it; it's pretty good!"

"Hot Fuzz. Perfectly cast. Great acting. Genuinely funny. Every setup pays off later. And all for the greater good."
Rogue Pictures/Everett Collection
—OBISerious
"Every line pays off; it is literally the perfect movie."
—Twigs-47
11.
"The Incredibles. A kids' movie that addresses the responsibilities of superheroes way before Marvel, involves family drama, the feelings of loss, the feelings that athletes might have when they're being knocked out of their glory days, and is absolutely dark in its whole premise. Couple that with a glorious art style, which, although simple, really holds up."

"The Last Of The Mohicans. Excellent cast, excellent scenery, excellent score, and excellent cinematography."
