Caroline Kennedy's 'Love Story' Reaction

It seems like forever now, but it was just a month ago when Ryan Murphy's Love Story — a dramatization of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette's heavily documented relationship — had people feeling major ‘90s vibes, and even JFK Jr. lookalike contests seemed like a good idea.

JFK Jr.'s nephew and son of Caroline Kennedy, Jack Schlossberg, has spoken out about the series, saying it has zero merit.

"Well, if you want to know someone who’s never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy," Jack told CBS Morning News. "I would just want people who do watch the show to watch it with one letter in mind, and that’s a capital F for fiction. The guy knows nothing about what he's talking about, and he's making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else's life."

And now, Jack has provided a glimpse into how his notoriously private mother felt when she saw herself portrayed on Love Story (Grace Gemma plays the role of Caroline), and her reaction is pretty epic.

"I showed her a clip of her, and we were laughing so hard," Jack told Katie Couric on her podcast.

"The person's freaking out and we're just laughing so hard, as if that's how my mom acts," he continued.

When Katie touched on the unflattering portrayal of his parents in Love Story, Jack responded: "The two nicest, most dignified, private people in the whole world who do nothing but help others. Yeah." To that, Katie said that it must have been frustrating. "Whatever, who cares, stupid show," Jack replied.

"My issue is with, you know, we have a lot of serious problems facing our country and my family," Jack said. "We're not just celebrities. We're not just icons. These are public servants," Jack said.

Although it's crystal clear at this point that Jack is no fan of Love Story, he said that he didn't fault anyone for watching the series.

"I want to be clear that, no problem with anyone who liked the show or watched it," Jack said. "I’m glad. My Uncle John was so cool. It’s not surprising that people, once they remember who he was, want to dress like him and be like him. He was awesome. He was a smart, attractive person who cared about politics, and tried to blend politics and media in his time."
