11 Actors Who Accused Their Co-Stars Of Doing Horrible Things

Are there HR departments on movie and TV sets? Presumably. But based on how many awful things seem to happen during production — and how rarely anyone faces consequences — you’d be forgiven for thinking otherwise. Seriously, try kicking a coworker to the ground at your job and see how that goes. But if a star does it… everyone looks away.

That’s the reality, at least according to a number of actors who’ve made claims about their co-stars’ behavior over the years. From on-set assaults to shocking behind-the-scenes drama, here are some of the most disturbing allegations actors have made about their co-stars:
Note: This post contains mentions of sexual assault, abuse (including involving minors), violence, and death. Reader discretion is advised.

Tatum O'Neal accused her co-star and father Ryan O'Neal of being physically abusive.
Tatum was just an 8-year-old with no acting experience when she was cast as the daughter of Ryan O'Neal (her real-life father) in 1973's Paper Moon. Ryan O’Neal was already an established star and surely saw his daughter as no threat — just another nepo baby landing a role thanks to Dad. But then something unexpected happened. Tatum left no crumbs (as the kids say) and totally outshone her father in the film. She not only earned an Academy Award nomination for the film (her father did not), but became the youngest person ever to win a competitive Oscar. This, Tatum alleges in her 2003 memoir Paper Life, threw her father into a jealous rage and he slugged her. "Things got ugly fast," she wrote.

Tatum's memoir is a gripping but sad read where she discusses her life growing up with Ryan O'Neal (from whom she was estranged from much of their adult lives). In an especially bleak passage, she describes telling her father his drug dealer molested her. His response, according to Tatum? To claim she (a minor) led the drug dealer on, and kept the dealer on the payroll. Ryan was no fan of the book, saying, “She wrote a book—bitch! How dare she throw our laundry in the street for money!”

Tatum, who learned she was left out of her father's will after he died, summed up their relationship in her memoir by writing: "The role I longed to play was never written into Ryan's script: daughter."

According to Corey Feldman, Corey Haim said Charlie Sheen raped him while making a movie together.
'80s child star Corey Feldman (The Goonies, Stand by Me, The Lost Boys) has spent years alleging that his close friend and frequent co-star Corey Haim told him he was sexually assaulted by Charlie Sheen during the making of 1986’s Lucas. According to Feldman, Haim described the abuse to him with no equivocation, in disturbing detail, more than once. Feldman even made a documentary about the abuse the two say they faced in Hollywood, (My) Truth: The Rape of 2 Coreys, where he recounts Haim telling him, “Charlie bent me over and raped me.”

Charlie Sheen denied the allegation, with a rep saying, “These sick, twisted and outlandish allegations never occurred. Period.” Meanwhile, Haim’s mother, Judy Haim, said she believed her son would have told her if it had happened, adding it was actually a different actor who had abused him. She also slammed Feldman, saying it wasn’t his story to tell. No criminal case emerged from the allegation, and there has been no legal finding substantiating it. The story doesn’t end there. In the 2025 documentary Corey Feldman vs. The World, Feldman makes the additional allegation that he was molested by Haim while filming The Lost Boys.

However, Feldman’s legal team released a statement saying the doc mischaracterized Feldman's recollection of specific events involving Haim, adding that "claims Corey Haim ‘molested’ him is a sensationalized mischaracterization of the statements made in the film. Mr. Feldman’s statement was that during the filming of The Lost Boys Mr. Haim sought to ‘mess around’ with Mr. Feldman. However, Mr. Feldman did not reciprocate his advances and contacted another party on behalf of Mr. Haim,” the statement continued.
So what’s the truth? It’s not for me, some random BuzzFeed writer, to say what did or didn’t happen in Hollywood in the ’80s. What can be said is that this remains a deeply disputed set of claims, with conflicting accounts and no legal resolution.
More broadly, there have been documented cases of abuse involving young actors during that era (you can read about the case involving Jeepers Creepers director Victor Salva, who served time for sexually abusi
