The two employees were dismissed after a video of the encounter gained traction online. One of the workers in the clip said she was recorded without her permission as a minor and subsequently launched a GoFundMe account, alleging that  due to hate comments and threats the job was “no longer safe to return to.” Her GoFundMe page was ultimately disabled after an account named “LeftismforU” flagged the page in a post on X. “I expect @gofundme to take proper action and not allow her to raise money off of discriminating against others,” the account wrote in a Monday post . After the incident, Smoothie King said the local franchise owner is also taking further action and enforcing mandatory retraining for all employees reinforcing their guest experience standards.
