Maj. Jeffrey R. O’Brien, 45, of Indianola, Iowa, died on Sunday at Shuaiba Port during an unmanned aircraft system attack, the Pentagon said in a statement . O’Brien was an Army Reserve soldier. Six total service members were killed in the attack, which came a day after the U.S. and Israel began strikes against Iran. The attack from Iran hit a makeshift office space with no apparent warning beforehand, multiple outlets reported. The incident is under investigation. The four victims previously identified were Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35, of Winter Haven, Fla.; Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, Neb.; Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, Minn.; and Sgt. Declan   J. Coady, 20, of West Des Moines, Iowa. The DOD also released the name of an individual “believed to be” another Army Reserve member who died at the scene: Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan, 54, of Sacramento, Calif. “Positive identification of Chief Warrant Officer 3 Marzan will be completed by the medical examiner,” the Pentagon said in a separate statement . White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt earlier Wednesday said the six U.S. soldiers killed in the attack will receive a dignified transfer .  “President Trump intends to attend the dignified transfer of these American heroes to stand in grief alongside their families,” she said during the White House press briefing.  Add as preferred source on Google Tags Donald Trump Karoline Leavitt Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media Inc.
