House Democrats, who have been openly critical of President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over the U.S. military operation in Iran, will speak with reporters Tuesday morning after a closed-door meeting.
Their remarks come as a temporary truce between the Trump administration and Tehran nears its end. The president has signaled he does not intend to extend the ceasefire without a deal in place.
Some within the Democratic Party have also raised concerns around Trump’s mental fitness, calling for his removal under the 25th Amendment.
Their comments also come as one member, Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-Fla.), faces possible expulsion after being accused of stealing millions of dollars in Federal Emergency Management Agency funds to help finance her campaign.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EDT.
