We all know what Bookstagram is at this point. It’s that whole corner of Instagram where readers, authors, and publishers are constantly posting reviews, aesthetic photos, reading lists, and random thoughts about whatever they’re reading. Basically, a giant visual book club that never really logs off. And clearly, it’s huge, with over 119 million posts around it as of 2025.

But while I was going down this rabbit hole, one thing kept showing up again and again—smut and A LOT of it. People reviewing it, people writing it, people passionately explaining plotlines, and then immediately recommending five more just like it. At some point I realized that I had crossed over, meaning I was no longer casually scrolling, I was fully invested.

And somehow, from Bookstagram, I landed in another corner of the internet that’s honestly taking over right now: vertical dramas. You’ve definitely seen these super short, 90 to 120 second videos that pop up mid-scroll and suddenly you’re watching what feels like a Wattpad story play out in real time. So naturally, I did what anyone would do. I spent an entire day going down both these rabbit holes in the name of "research".

And here’s what I came out with. There are some genres we are just never letting go of, and smut, messy, raunchy, over-the-top storylines are very much at the top of that list.

Which got me thinking, if you like those plots but don’t always feel like picking up a book, there has to be a quicker fix. So I went looking for raunchy vertical dramas that give you the same energy, just way faster. And since I’d already come across a few surprisingly inclusive vertical dramas that are actually killing it in the name of representation, I figured why not put this together for all you smut-loving demons.

Here are 8 raunchy and smutty vertical dramas that might just be for you!

1.

How to Break a DILF

Reelshort / Via reelshort.com

You’ve got Sophie, an intern who is just quietly living her life except not really, because she has a full-blown secret crush (and very not-safe-for-work thoughts) about her boss, Jesse. And of course, because the universe loves drama, those private texts somehow get leaked, but wait, it doesn’t stop there. Right when things couldn’t get more awkward, she ends up in an actual dangerous situation and guess who shows up to save her? Jesse, obviously. And somehow, this leads to them living under the same roof, which is exactly as messy as it sounds. Now add to that the fact that he’s older, he’s her best friend’s dad (yes, really), and he’s trying very hard to fight whatever is clearly brewing between them and you’ve got tension for days.

2.

Submitting to My Ex's Dad

So you’ve got Flora, who catches her fiancé Adam cheating, which already puts her in full “I need to make questionable decisions” mode. And trust me, she does exactly that. She ends up having this very impulsive, very intense one-night thing with an older billionaire, Marco Russo. At this point you’re thinking, okay, classic revenge situation, we’ve all seen where this is going. But you are sooo wrong because it is then revealed that Marco is Adam’s father. Oops.

3.

Pucked by My Brother's Rival
