Vice President Vance heads to Pakistan on Friday, where he faces his biggest challenge yet, as he leads U.S. negotiations with Iran amid the fragile ceasefire. President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff will also be part of the talks.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, said Friday there will be no negotiations with the U.S. without a ceasefire in Lebanon and a release of blocked Iranian assets.
As the war hits its sixth week, inflation prices for March surged to 3.3 percent for the year, with energy costs up nearly 11 percent, according to consumer price index data released Friday morning.
In New York, former Vice President Kamala Harris told the crowd at the Rev. Al Sharpton’s annual convention that she “might” run in 2028, an answer she’s given previously.
Trump’s new tariffs are headed for a court showdown, with the U.S. Court of International Trade considering a bid by Democratic-led states and small businesses to block the levies.
Trump on Friday will attend a meeting and dinner hosted by MAGA Inc. in Charlottesville, Va.
