This year, Ariana Grande is returning to the big screen for Focker-In-Law, the fourth film in the Meet the Parents franchise, where she'll play Olivia Jones, a former FBI negotiator marrying into the family. The trailer released last week to a wave of excitement, with many viewers calling it funny and praising its early 2000s rom-com vibe. But not everyone was sold — specifically when it came to Ariana's look.

One viral TikTok with over 6 million views called the singer out for looking "too much" like herself, arguing she has the "exact look" as her R.E.M Beauty ads or album visuals. Many viewers agreed, saying her "perfect" and "polished" appearance made it hard to see her as the character — and before long, the conversation turned into a debate about actors who actually disappeared into their roles.
