Podcasters Joe Rogan and Theo Von, who both endorsed President Trump in the 2024 presidential election, on Thursday slammed the administration’s military offensive against Iran.
Von made a guest appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” where the two talked about the U.S.’s history with Iran before Von asked, “What do you think is going to happen? You think we’re going to be OK?”
“I hope so, of course,” Rogan said. “I’m confused. I can’t believe we went to this war. When we started bombing Iran, I was like, ‘This can’t be true.'”
Von raised Israel’s bombing campaign in Lebanon, which began shortly after the U.S. followed Israel in the initial joint attacks on Iran that started Feb. 28.
“And it’s like — just f‑‑‑ing stop it,” Von said. “What do you need?”
Rogan said Israel was “supposedly … trying to stop the terrorists,” which caused Von to laugh.
“That’s crazy though. You’re the f‑‑‑ing terrorists, you know what I’m saying?” Von replied. “Like, if you want to stop them, f‑‑‑ing stand in front of the f‑‑‑ing mirror and start there.”
Israel’s military offensive in Lebanon began after Hezbollah retaliated in response to the U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran. Israeli forces have conducted airstrikes that have killed Hezbollah militants.
But these strikes have also killed many civilians, including at least 1,345 people, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health told Al Jazeera.
Rogan has grown more critical of Trump’s policies and actions since Trump returned to the White House last year. The podcaster said the start of the “insane” conflict in the Middle East left many Trump supporters feeling “betrayed” given the president’s stance as a “peace” candidate and his “America First” agenda.
“He ran on ‘No more wars,’ ‘End these stupid, senseless wars,’ and then we have one that we can’t even really clearly define why we did it,” Rogan said on his show last month.
Republican lawmakers have also raised concerns over the conflict becoming a protracted military engagement, one that could threaten their control of Congress and become another “forever war.“
Trump said in an address to the nation Wednesday that the conflict was “near completion” but later warned on Truth Social that Iran must make a peace deal “BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF WHAT STILL COULD BECOME A GREAT COUNTRY!”
Both the U.S. and Iran submitted peace plans to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict. Iran rejected the U.S. proposal and submitted its own. On Wednesday, Trump claimed that Iran submitted a ceasefire proposal, though Iranian officials rejected Trump’s claim.
