Osmosis Global has officially acquired the distribution rights to *Stan Lee: The Final Years*, a documentary directed by the comic book icon’s former assistant, Jon Bolerjack. The film, which features hundreds of hours of candid footage captured during the final decade of Lee’s life, is scheduled for a premiere at the Dances with Film festival in Los Angeles on June 27. The project was brought to completion following a successful crowdfunding campaign that raised nearly $85,000 toward its total production and legal costs.

The documentary promises an intimate, albeit harrowing, look at the period leading up to Lee’s death in 2018. Bolerjack’s footage reportedly captures the exhaustion and overwork Lee faced as various parties vied for control over his estate and care. These scenes align with previous investigative reports regarding allegations of elder abuse surrounding the Marvel legend. Bolerjack has noted that the film’s production faced significant legal hurdles, as individuals implicated in the alleged mistreatment attempted to block the project’s release.

This acquisition highlights the industry's growing appetite for high-profile, character-driven documentaries that offer a behind-the-scenes perspective on pop culture icons. By providing a firsthand account of Lee’s final years, the film serves as both a historical record and a controversial examination of how the industry manages its aging legends. For fans and observers of the comic book world, the documentary represents a significant, if difficult, final chapter in the legacy of one of entertainment's most influential figures.
