(NEXSTAR) – A line of battery-powered socks is being recalled after more than a dozen people reported first- or second-degree burns, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Thursday.
The recall covers roughly 207,800 pairs of 32 Degrees-branded socks, which the CPSC says are tied to at least 14 “heat-related incidents.” Thirteen of those incidents involved burns.
The socks, which come with a rechargeable battery pack, can be especially hazardous during high-intensity activities that might cause a combination of heat, friction, moisture and pressure, according to the CPSC.
The recalled socks, which were manufactured in China and retailed for between $30 and $46, were sold in three sizes: medium, large and extra large.
Costco sold the socks on the company’s website and in stores between August 2025 and March 2026.
Anyone who owns a pair should stop using them and return them to Costco for a refund.
