Gkids Secures North American Rights for Wartime Anime 'Cocoon'

Distributor Gkids has officially acquired the North American rights for the poignant animated drama "Cocoon – One Summer of Girlhood." Based on the acclaimed manga by Kyo Machiko, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 4. To accommodate a broad audience, the distributor will offer screenings in both the original Japanese language with English subtitles and a localized English-dubbed version.
