Jeremy Allen White Praises Jeremy Strong's Portrayal in The Social Reckoning
At the premiere of the final season of FX's *The Bear*, actor Jeremy Allen White shared his reaction to the recently released trailer for *The Social Reckoning*. White, who portrays Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz in the film, admitted that he was just as surprised as the public to hear Jeremy Strong’s vocal transformation into Mark Zuckerberg. Because the two actors filmed their scenes separately, the trailer served as White’s first opportunity to witness Strong’s performance, which he praised as both expectedly talented and highly impressive.
*The Social Reckoning* serves as a long-awaited sequel to the 2010 hit *The Social Network*. While the original film focused on the meteoric rise of Facebook, this installment—written and directed by Aaron Sorkin—shifts the narrative to the platform's long-term societal consequences. The plot follows the efforts of Horwitz and whistleblower Frances Haugen, played by Mikey Madison, as they attempt to uncover the company's internal secrets nearly two decades after its inception.
Beyond the technical achievements of the cast, the film aims to spark a broader conversation regarding the influence of social media. White noted that while his participation in the project did not fundamentally alter his perspective on digital platforms, it reinforced his existing concerns. He emphasized that the film highlights the addictive nature of these technologies, suggesting that the public would benefit from taking a more critical step back from their digital habits. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 9.
